Fruit pickingThe Tri-State Fruit Fly Committee includes representatives from fruit growing industries, Primary Industries and Resources South Australia, the Department of Primary Industries Victoria, and the Department of Primary Industries New South Wales.

The Tri-State Fruit Fly Program is supported with funding from Horticulture Australia Ltd, Riverina Citrus, the Murray Valley Citrus Board and the South Australian Citrus Industry Development Board.

The committee’s role is to coordinate efforts across state borders to minimise the threat of fruit fly within the Fruit Fly Exclusion Zone (FFEZ).  One of its major roles is to raise awareness among the general public of the role they can play in assisting these efforts by not transporting fruit and fruiting vegetables into the zone.

The Tri-State Fruit Fly Committee was formed in 1994.
